First post of my bike/music blog! Woo hoo! It’s been a rainy, cold Seattle winter and I’m looking forward to warmer days and better commutes on the bike.
This blog will cover issues relating to cycling – including commuting, gear, bicycle culture, beating the weather, and other interesting bike-related stuff. I also love heavy metal of the most extreme types – black metal, death metal, grindcore, doom, drone, and so on. I plan on posting about some of my favorite albums, shows that I see (and the rides to said shows) and metal news that I happen across.
Rarely do these two topics come together (there aren’t that many metal songs about bicycles, I wonder why?), but I’m sure I’ll find ways to marry the two. The blog’s name, The Heavy Metal Cyclist, will be the topic of one of my first posts, so look forward to that! Also keep your eyes peeled for a Page about my bikes and gear, favorite metal bands, and other cool stuff!
I don’t pretend to be some super-knowledgeable cycling guy. I’m just a guy that loves bikes and extreme metal, among other things (which might also make their way into this blog). I hope you enjoy it.
